Microsoft has announced that people 18 and older are no longer able to buy Xbox Live gold, but it will still be possible to rent out games, complete games and earn rewards from the service.
The company said the new rules are in place to give players more time to play games, and also make sure that those in the age bracket where the game is available are able to play it.
It will be interesting to see how this affects the number of people who are able and willing to rent games.
The live escort service was a feature introduced with the Xbox One S and Xbox One X consoles, and was designed to allow people to complete online tasks.
For instance, people could play a game of Angry Birds Star Wars on the Xbox Live service while they were in their home.
However, the service wasn’t particularly popular among those who purchased the consoles, leading to Microsoft not making it available in-store.
But now that the live escort feature is no longer available, people will have to use a service called Xbox Live Gift Cards to rent a game from the Xbox.
Microsoft is also introducing a new option for people who wish to play online with other people in the same household, in which they can rent a gaming console for a price based on the number they have in the household.
Microsoft said it has seen an increase in the number and number of households who are willing to pay a premium for the Xbox Gift Card service.
The company has said that its Xbox Gift Cards will be used to rent game discs from retailers such as GameStop and Amazon.
It said the Xbox Gifts service will be available from August 25th.
Xbox Live Gold will still work on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PlayStation 3, but Microsoft is promising that the new restrictions on Xbox Live will be phased in gradually over the next few weeks.
